Engagement Ring (aka, Sparkly)
I have always loved vintage-style jewelry, so when Chuck saw this ring online after weeks of searching stores and websites, he knew it was the one for me - and I love it! A few months after he had given it to me, my grandmother gave us her diamond - so we decided to switch the stones in addition to having our jeweler change the ring around - subtle changes, but they’ve made a big difference. We had the setting taken down (it was originally too high and kept snagging on fabric), the prongs changed to hold the new diamond better (you could shift the original stone around, it was so loose), the band thickened so it was more comfortable and the ring sized smaller (I had lost some weight and it kept falling off).
My Dream Wedding Band
It's perfect. It's everything I had thought my wedding band would be. Whitehouse Brothers designed it, and when I tired it on in the store...it was love. It's got the sparkle and the filigree and the sapphires (my favorite gemstone, and FI's birthstone)...and...it's perfect. I can choose between white and yellow gold too.
The price tag, however, isn't so perfect. Damn.
I know what I'm asking FI for when we win the lottery...or when our 10 year anniversary comes around...whichever comes first ;-)

Wedding Bands
I love the classic and timeless look of a simple ring, and that it's a distinct 'wedding' band. But, I am not going to lie - it doesn't look 'great' with sparkly, so I will probably end up wearing my e-ring on my right hand at some point, and wear my 3.5 eurofit ring on my left.
Chuck had my ring engraved with 'La mia anima gemella', which translates to 'my soulmate' in italian, followed by 'evermore'.
Our engravings were his idea, actually - he chose to have something engraved in Italian on my wedding band (he's 2nd generation Italian-American), and for me to have something engraved in Gaelic on his, since I'm also second generation American, but my family came from Scotland. That way, our histories are tied together in our wedding bands, and we can say something different besides the typical 'i love you *wedding date*.

His Ring
This is the wedding band Chuck chooses for himself - yellow gold with a brushed finish (also comfort fit. Have you every tried those rings on? They feel so cool…). I had his ring engraved with 'Gra Dilsceacht Cairdeas mo Anam Cara', which translates to 'love, loyalty and friendship my soul friend' in galiec, followed by 'evermore'.
