My Moms House
As you'll see here, I got my love for decorating from her. The worst part is, she told me she didn't get around to doing much around the house this year. Uh, mom? I love you, but if this is what your idea of 'not doing much' is, then I may just have to start hating you. Seriously. On the dining room tree, she kept all the ornaments from our wedding (the ones we had hanging from the ceiling) and hangs them up every year with plaid ribbon, and frosted glass doves. I joke around saying that I'm the only one who got their own tree in the house ;-). The second tree, the family tree, is in the parlor, and it has all the ornaments we made every year as kid, along with a few sentimental ones that we were given as infants. She sewed all the valances, pillows, etc. You'll notice her style is more towards Victorian, compared to my mix of modern-cottage. But even I still think its gorgeous. And I'm jealous that she just threw it all together. Sigh.
